What could be more romantic than a beach wedding on the spectacular white sands of Noordhoek Long Beach. Just visualize the soothing ebb and flow of the sea, the horizon that seems to go on forever and, as backdrop, the awesome Chapman's Peak. Noordhoek Beach offers special opportunities for wedding photographers, because it faces West and enjoys spectacular, colourful, sunsets almost every evening. Imagine having your wedding photographs taken against such a spectacular and romantic backdrop, with natural backlighting! Imagine this as the setting for your wedding and even your wedding reception.

Horizon Holiday Cottages is not a full on wedding venue, as we do not have a reception hall, but we can provide the services of a licensed wedding officer for a small, intimate wedding ceremony on the beach. In addition we can cater for a small reception for up to 20 people at our accommodation , to suit your needs and your budget, including a seafood braai.  Our establishment can accommodate up to 14 people so no need for guests to drive home.

Our marriage officer is fully licensed to conduct and register marriages in any religion, and is an ordained non-denominational pastor. Before the wedding he will meet with the couple to advise them on legal procedures, registration of the marriage and even provide advice for registration of your marriage in your own country if you are a visitor to Cape Town. Following on the marriage, he will provide you with the official registered marriage certificate, and will personally submit and arrange the registration of your marriage with the Department of Home Affairs. He has officiated in more than 150 marriages in the past two years; most of which have been small intimate weddings, with many of them being conducted in the open, including a wedding conducted on top of Table Mountain. Regrettably, due to his a marriage license conditions, he is not authorized to conduct same sex marriages.

We have a local partner, who lives in Noordhoek, to provide photography services at your wedding. He can shoot your wedding photographs in whatever medium you require, including digital, and can arrange for prints and enlargements at reasonable prices. Because he lives locally,  he is well acquainted with the complexities of providing professional photography in a beach, sunset environment.

Our affordable self catering accommodation is also a popular stay over choice for guests or for bridal parties attending a wedding at nearby Monkey Valley Beach nature Resort - a stunning wedding and conference venue situated amongst old Milkwood trees, and overlooking the white sands of Noordhoek Beach. This beach resort, which is just a few minutes' drive from us, has a choice of function rooms including a private deck overlooking the beach for smaller parties, and can cater for wedding receptions of all sizes. Their conference and wedding venue has magnificent panoramic views of the beach and, in addition, you will have the romantic view of the sun slowly slipping into the ocean as you enjoy your reception.

Should you decide to undertake your own wedding at Noordhoek beach - you will require permission from the City Council for such an event, but permission can also be obtained by the minister overseeing the wedding.
